1917 Straps began as three friends from Cheshire sharing a frustration - we couldn't find watch straps that lived up to our expectations. Everything we encountered was either well-made but characterless, or attractive but cheaply constructed.

We wanted straps with genuine class and simplicity that would complement traditional timepieces, reflecting the understated elegance and dependable quality that defined the best of British heritage. Drawing inspiration from 1917, when wristwatches became essential equipment for British soldiers, we decided to create what we couldn't find.

Our approach is straightforward: use premium materials, employ time-tested construction methods, and create designs that improve with time rather than wearing out. We believe the best accessories enhance what they support rather than demanding attention for themselves.
